About This Piece
The rectangles of Selkirk's vertical backplate and horizontal box shade are contrasted with the lithe and sinuous form of its arms branching out from it in an evocation of natural grace. The arm's cubical shape as well as the box detail at its base amplify the sound aesthetic resonating throughout the piece.
